About the Company |
|
Chris Sibley Groundworks Ltd are a professional ground works and
civil engineering company, assisting major building projects all around
Devon and Cornwall.
The company was originally registered as Chris Sibley Plant Hire Ltd
in 2002. Owner Mr Chris Sibley has been working in
ground works and civil engineering for 21 years. He started at the age of
16 as a labourer, worked up through the ranks and gained considerable
experience working as a ganger and project manager for 15 years. In 2002
Chris decided to form his own company and purchased his first 20tonne
machine. Chris Sibley Plant Hire Ltd was formed and the company
focused on contract hire. However in 2004 it was decided to expand the
company, broaden the sphere and create new business opportunities.
A diversification was decided and the purchase of an 8 tonne
excavator a new 14 tonne Daewoo Solar and a change of name to Chris
Sibley Groundworks Ltd have seen the groundwork's and civil engineering
company grow and go from strength to strength. |

| Current Projects |
|
We are very proud to have provided the groundworks
for the Redruth Urban Village Project. This is a large project involving
new build and refurbishment of the Old Miners Hospital and the Women's
Hospital in Redruth, to provide much needed housing. Work has been
carried out to a high specification, is 80% completed and on target.
We are currently involved with the UNA Group constructing 9 small
industrial/commercial units at Beliver and the work has been progressing
well.
We also recently finished refurbishing Industrial Units at Langage in
Plymouth for the same company.
Scarne Farm at Launceston was a particularly difficult project,
involving a residential development with offices completed to a high
specification demanded by the National Trust.
We are also proud to have been involved with the groundworks for the
upgrading to the purification system at the Argal Resevoir, near Penryn
in Cornwall.
We will soon start the groundworks at Borgwitha Four Lanes, just outside
Redruth, to provide 26 houses for Devon & Cornwall Housing Association
in conjunction with ROK.

We hold a comprehensive health & safety policy in the head office
at The Old Vicarage and all our health & Safety, risk assessment and
method statements are provided by JNC Safety Services of Truro. All of
our operatives and employees hold current safety certificates and
training is ongoing. JNC Safety Services Ltd conduct site surveys on our
behalf and provides tailored Risk Assessment and Method Statements prior
to commencement of any project.
